Artist's Comments
This peice was done using ballpoint pen, black marker, and a silver signing pen for the stars and highlights. The original outline of the girl was provided by a friend of mine named Scott Brendel who is a comic book style artist. We had been friends for a while and he showed me the outline as we sat around one day. He was also flipping through by portfilio and saw one of my outlines for a version of Jocelin (the main character for my story), we decided to trade off and do whatever to either piece. Scotts version of Jocelin came out pretty badass (Ill provide a link soon) and this is what I did with his basic outline.
Daily DeviationGiven 2006-02-16Omega Angel is done by he appropriately named *ballpointmaster , who exploits the possibilities of the simple device to its maximum. It's like Giger meets Bic. Technique alone is impressive, but this actually captures some of the vibe from the 70s and 80s science-fiction illustration days, when Heavy Metal Magazine was at its peak.
